MTM Supercharger

Description of the compressor:
V8 Compressor The rotary compressor belongs to the rotating double corrugated displacement compressors with inner compression. It features an easy build, small measurements, low bulk, consistent non-pulsating conveyance, quiet run and missing oscillating masses and controls.
The rotary screw compressors descend from the rotary compressors.

Rotary screw compressors belong to the group of the rotary compressors.

Compressor:
Buildup of a MTM CompressorThe from MTM at the bottom of the suction tube flanged compressor works using rotary screw compressor technology and returns a maximum pressure of about 0.45 bar. But because of the additional components (for example the compressor) raised running noises may be produced.

Mode of drive and function of the compressor:
The compressor is driven trough the Poly-V belt: trough the motor rotation speed (transmission ratio M/K: 1:1.7) the compressor takes up air and pushes it trough the special MTM designed intercooler with integrated radiator.

Intercooling, water-cooled
Compressor The intercooling consists always of two main components: The cooling element for direct intercooling which is integrated in the suction tube and an air steamed water-heat changer which is installed at the vehicle front before the motor radiator. This water cooling circulation is operated with an additional separate electronic water pump which is adressed from the electronic control unit.

Suction tube
At the construction of the suction tube following propositions were taken as a basis by the cunstruction engineers:

  • Optimum and even filling of the single cylinders
  • Current-beneficial laying of the routing of air flow
  • Use of standard connecting parts (for example throttle , …)
  • Compact construction

Modified electronic fuel injection
The electronic fuel injection was developed specially for this alteration. In combination with a special suction tube it guarantees an optimal injection procedure which results in an optimal combustion.

Modified motor management
The motor adjustment was made on the engine test bench as well as on the street. It has been carried out under the aspect of perpetuation of lifetime and the maximal possible performance. The durability was also tested on the vehicle and on the test bench.

Authorization
Every modification on the standard drive unit belongs to the acceptance-requiring vehicle changes after the currently effective authorization prescription. On this account the operating licence of the vehicle expires after any changes on the drive unit if the prescribed acceptance procedure accordant to StVZO is not accomplished and accredited immediately.
The most MTM motor modifications have a components certificate created from an accredited center. After professional installation and under consideration of the most up to date repair instructions of the manufacturer as well as the supported installation instructions and the obligations and hints mentioned in the components certificate the system can be introduced to an officially accepted expert or inspector of a technical test station for accomplishing and accreditating the prescribed acceptance procedure.
Afterwards the registered keeper must request the registration into the car documents at the responsible accreditation agency with the certificate of the acceptance procedure.

Some special MTM motor alterations have no components certificate. This systems can only be installed in the mtm workshop and afterwards only be verfied from a licensed inspector accordant to the effective obligations within the scope of a single inspection in the mtm workshop. After successful appraisal the mtm compressor alteration will be registered into the registration document by the TÜV.

With this changed registration document the registered keeper must request the registration into the car documents at the responsible acreditation agency.
Attention:
The exclusive carrying along of the certificate inside the vehicle is not sufficient!

Safety tips
Basically all operations at compressor alteration must be conducted and traceable accredited by qualified personal of a specialized workshop.

Warranty
Damages or deficiencies related to lifetime that result out of faulty installation, already existing deficiencies of the series-production vehicle (for example defect wheel bearings, defect rubber bearing or other defect components of the chassie), overstressing of the breaks or a deficient attendance and care understandably can’t be accepted by the mtm warranty. Wear parts (block pads and friction ring of the brake disc) are basically excluded of the warranty in case they are used.
On request we willingly forward the technical data for the motor alteration that fits for your vehicle to you.
