ADAC TCR Germany 2016
17.10.2016

The highlight of the national season of motorsport was played out recently at the Hockenheim Motodrom, where Marco Wittman secured the DTM Championship for a second time since 2014 after needing only a fourth place in the final race.

Two weeks previously, the final of the ADAC Touring Car Series was held at the same venue, and Roland Mayer, CEO of MTM, was pleased with his partnership with the Finnish LMS racing team and its driver Antti Buri, 28. “We supported the team with Antti Buri because we have a lot of experience with the powerful unit in the Seat Leon TCR and we are happy to share this with other teams.” The rewards in this series were victories at the Sachsenring and Nurburgring, a podium at the Red Bull Circuit, and a close second at Zandvoort. At the Hockenheim finale, Buri qualified on the sixth row of the grid and improved to sixth place overall.

In the coming quiet months, the MTM team will be busy with developing performance parts to ADAC TCR specifications with the aim of bringing their own Audi RS3 LMS to the line in 2017. The MTM chief describes the development objective as, “Torque and Top Speed are only relevant in so far as they can be delivered reliably to ourselves and our customers. This is what we are looking to prove.”
